
So, here’s the full photo that gave rise to yesterday’s crop shot….
…and it’s a family of Egyptian Geese (well minus t’other parent who insisted on swimming slightly too far ahead! I did say no-one would guess and to be fair all ducklings/goslings do look pretty much alike. We’ve had a pair of Egyptian Geese at the reservoir for a while now but I think this is the first time they’ve bred, hope they all survive!
Tomorrow, the next chicks IO came across about half an hour later (including some video!).
I've not seen an Egyptian goose before. It has lovely subtle browny/orange markings on its back. I'll know one straight away if I come across one.
I remember seeing these kind of ducks in The Netherlands. 🙂
