  1. How on earth did you get a shot like that? Where were you, how far away was the fox? Amazing! I hadn't before noticed how black the tips of their ears are. Beautiful. Or the way the chest fur is black underneath but tipped with white. Thanks for catching this moment.

  2. Superb, and one of the best fox photos I think I've ever seen! Sadly we've hardly seen our allotment foxes for ages now.

  3. What a remarkable shot! This wee fellow seems quite well fed and not too tall – the ones around here are "rangy" and they certainly don't like to pose for a shot like this one!

  4. Amazing shot, Nic ~ the focus of his clear eyes is striking. He's too cute to have the 'sly' look down yet, but perhaps he's working on it.

  5. Thanks all. 😀

Walk softly and carry a big lens Josh, ;D
…but I'd guess I must have been about thirty feet away, probably could have got closer but didn't want to spook it. With all nature big and small it's just a question of moving slowly and knowing how close one an get before taking the shot. I still miss more than I get!

    Don't understand LaP?

I'm sure not all of your fellow allotmenteers share your view Flighty, I know a lot at our allotments would put poison down if they could.

Yes, it does look in pretty good condition, mj, they're not all that good round here either.

Give him another year perhaps Glo!

  6. I think he's just been (badly) washing himself LaP, but you could be right…it might be something he's been in.

  7. Do foxes roll in dog poo, as dogs roll in fox poo? Just thought I'd ask.
I've lived in this house for nearly 20 years, if we leave the chicken shed unlocked, for just one night, foxy will wipe them out. So we know he is out there EVERY night; yet in all those years I've seen a fox only twice. They are much more visible with you than us.
