It was cloudy in London this morning during the Lunar Eclipse so I hope you’ll forgive me showing you a composite photo I took over three and a half years ago of the last Lunar Eclipse (viewable from London) in the days just before LDNP was born. It was, I recall, very cold that night too!

I was getting all jealous there, thought you'd seen it 30 miles away when we didn't!
Great photos nonetheless though.
I heard on R4 last night that there are, on average, 5 lunar eclipses per year, although not all visible from everywhere in the world.
Thanks Witchy….yes, you're right of course, it's the first one viewable from London for three years, there have been many observable elsewhere.
(Blog ammended)
Oh… I hadn't even noticed that!
I jsut popped back to say that your photos are a lot better than those I've just seen on the BBC news website… http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12049947
Heh, heh…thanks Witchy (have to say I was underwhelmed by the Beeb's ones too!)
Spectacular. And not a crumb of cheese in sight! Merry Christmas, Nic.
