Viper's Bugloss
…for that is what it’s called. In the background you can see what used to be the Maize storage silos where I used to work in Greenwich which are soon to be demolished like the rest of the site.

For those who watched “Luther” this week these silos were also in the background as Luther’s fellow policeman friend disposed of a body.

  1. Paterson's Curse. A terrible weed in Australia; but provides wonderful honey via the local bees. Also called Salvation Jane , depending on whether you run cattle or sheep.

  2. Thanks for that Ann…always good to learn new names and the worldwide perspective. The bees certainly do seem to love it.

  4. I watch Luther, thank you for that bit of info. I live in the Scottish Borders and haven't noticed this Viper's Bugloss anywhere, will keep a look out now.
