Probably one of the most characteristic feathers I come across, and I seem to come across them quite often. Looking back at this young Jay from a couple of years ago, it looks as though he had a few missing so maybe it’s a common feather to lose?

Lucky you, I've never come across one! Jays are wonderful birds that I rarely ever see more than a quick glimpse of!
